Tomorrow evening, November 18, 2021, the Fine Arts Department of Maine West High School invites you to attend two very special public events:

Dimensions Art Exhibit Reception from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center (Library)

This art exhibit features the work of 200 student artists from every art course offered at Maine West. Please join us for a public reception to celebrate the achievements of these talented artists!

Dimensions: Premiere Concert - Two Performances: 5:30 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium

This concert will feature students in the Band, Choir, Orchestra and Digital Audio + Music Production courses. Many of these students are performing for a live audience for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us, and enjoy an evening of music that promises to enrich your soul! Tickets for the concert are general admission and $5. Tickets can be purchased online in advance on the Fine Arts Website, or by clicking the link below, and may also be purchased at the door (cash, check strongly preferred).

Broadcasting Students Produce Video to Honor Veterans #207Now #veteransday #broadcasting #studentfilmmakers @wmth_mainewest

A giant THANK YOU and BRAVO to the Broadcasting students behind this year's Veteran's Day video! The video was played for all students during advisory in lieu of a traditional assembly. The editing was done by Christa Sullivan. Vocal talents were provided by Raphael Ronola, Sabrina Bukvarevic, Oscar Nevarez and Said Nonoal. Thank you to the students and to Ms. Orr for helping to honor Veterans this year!

The Maine West Band and Choir performed this morning in honor of Veterans' Day. A sizable audience of faculty, staff and students stood to listen. Several staff members who have served in a branch of the military stepped forward as the band played the Armed Forces Salute, paying tribute to their service. Listening to the sounds of these ensembles on this reverent occasion was a wonderful way to start the day!

Congratulations to the cast, crew and directors of West's Got Talent, the 2021 V-Show. Over 150 Maine West students shined on (and off) the stage, sharing their talents with the community and impressing us all!

Acts included Warrior Strings, Choraliers, West Side Dance Company, original compositions, covers of songs, solo and group dance numbers, stand-up comedy and a guitar solo that made you think Joe Satriani was on stage himself!

The pit orchestra sounded fabulous!

Come out to hear Maine West students showcase their incredible talents in WEST'S GOT TALENT on Thursday, November 4 at 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m.! 

Featuring everything from stand-up comedy, amazing vocalists, captivating dance numbers and shredding guitarists...this show will blow you away!

Congratulations to the 2021 Marching Warriors and their directors, Mr. Gerstmayr, Mr. Kent and Mr. Bonslater on a successful conclusion to the 2021 season. Tonight's Marching Band Showcase concert thrilled the audience, and being indoors, allowed listeners to truly appreciate the wonderful sounds created by the student musicians. Bravo!
