Dimensions: Celebrate! Music Concert #207Now @mainewestfab

 

This year’s Dimensions Concert lit up the auditorium with joy and energy! Students from band, choir, and orchestra came together, creating a night filled with color, connection, and the pure fun of making music as a community.

The theme Celebrate came to life in every piece. Ensembles highlighted moments of triumph, gratitude, and shared experience, reminding everyone why the arts matter so much in our school. From start to finish, the concert felt like a joyful look at everything our students have worked toward this year—performing together, supporting one another, and sharing music that means something to them.

Congratulations to all of the student musicians and their directors - Mr. Bernie Gerstmayr, Ms. Stefanie Herrera and Ms. Daniella Valdez - on a fantastic performance!

This week, our Maine West Orchestra students had the wonderful opportunity to perform alongside all of the middle school orchestra students from District 62 at the annual Des Plaines Orchestra Festival Concert! 

The energy and musicianship on stage was inspiring—from the first notes of the middle school ensembles to the finale featuring all groups combined. Each orchestra performed with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our young musicians.

We’re so proud of their hard work and excited to see these future Warriors continue to grow in their musical journey!

Thursday, September 18th, the students in the Maine West Orchestras presented Informances for family and friends. This casual performance gave guests a unique look inside the world of our student musicians! They were invited to sit right among the players, experiencing the sights and sounds from the musicians’ point of view. These informal performances offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how an orchestra rehearses, learns, and performs — celebrating the hard work and creativity of our talented students. Bravo to everyone who made the evening so special!

Last night’s Music Awards celebration was a powerful reminder of why the arts matter. We came together to honor the growth, dedication, and incredible talent of our band, choir, and orchestra students. Representatives from each grade level delivered heartfelt speeches, sharing how their experiences in the music program at West have shaped them and why it continues to mean so much.

The evening was filled with joy, pride, and inspiration. From awards for musicianship and leadership to creativity and spirit, each recognition reflected the passion our students bring to every rehearsal, performance, and collaboration. These awards weren’t just about achievement—they celebrated the vibrant community we’ve built through music.

Thank you to our amazing staff, families, and friends for your ongoing support. And to our students: thank you for lifting each other up and making our program stronger, bolder, and more joyful every single day. We’re so proud of you!

Tonight's Orchestra Masterworks Concert was a stunning celebration of musical depth, discipline, and artistry. Students performed with incredible poise and passion, tackling a challenging program of diverse repertoire that highlighted their growth and talent.
